And Since We're Talking About J-Pop
This is my absolute favorite song by my favorite Japanese band -- Oh, Penelope! -- that I discovered in Hong Kong about 15 years ago. I just listen to this and hear an Asian re-interpretations of the Beatles and 1000 years of Western culture in a much purer light. It just makes me happy trying to imagine what on earth the lyrics are about.

Oh, you want J-Pop? We've got J-Pop! Just check my blog. Thanks for this...
Joe - Why is it that I can bounce around to this and roll my eyes at Hannah Montana?
An affectation?
Seriously, I'm not sure, but something about non-North American, little-known confections make them more fun....?
On second thought, what I said before: an affectation.
Joe - Well, I also think rock and roll sounds better in Spanish, and I also love Norwegian pop. Not sure if they call that N-pop or not.
I agree that some of the best pop music is in languages other than English, and especially in Japanese!
Wendy - I completely agree. Thanks for dropping by!
Speaking of Beatles influences, I think Tsunku of Hello! Project and Morning Musume fame is a prolific composer whose work echoes that of Lennon and McCartney.
Rad - Thanks for those recommendations. You can never have too much J-Pop!
Where's Yoko?
WAT - I love Yoko, but she's more Op than Pop, I think.
