Bonjour, Paris...

...no offense, but our president is much better looking, more ethnically diverse and more progressive than yours. Freedom Fries are history. By the way, we're striking "the decider" from our list of non-words.

well what you said is true, but I hope you haven't fired off some shot at france! did I dream this, or didn't some awful war begin with some similar remark about how someone looked????

vive america! vive france! vive french fries and french champagne - which by the way was part of our obama celebration!

Mouse - No, I still love France. But after being the brunt of their jokes for 8 years, it's heartening to know we have a better looking and more progressive president. However, both now have tremendous First Ladies.

I'm just happy to have a president (-elect, I guess) for the first time in, oh, 9 years, I guess, that I'm not even slightly embarrassed of. Oh happy day. I'm prematurely exuberant, but happy for the opportunity to celebrate.

And YES on the tremendous First Ladies. I like Michelle a lot.

Aunty - Now I can't wait to get back to Europe and hear people rave about what a cool president we elected. Both first ladies are gorgeous and bright, but I think Michelle is probably the brighter of the two.

Michelle is clearly the brighter of the two since she chose Barack, NOT Nicolas :-)

No argument from me on this one. I mean our Président doesn't even drink wine, for crying out loud. What can you expect from a French President who doesn't like wine?

P.S. just in case you're wondering: no one I hang out with voted for Nicolas Sarkozy (just in case you're wondering) :-)

And hurray for the change on your side of the pond!

R.L. - Having French some ancestry, it pleases me at least to know the two countries are already on more friendly terms. Just as the U.S. has managed to move beyond Bush, I'm sure France will move beyond Sarkozy.
