The Next Grey Gardens?

Didn't I just say that I don't want to grow more eccentric in my old age? I'm beginning to reconsider that after reading this great article in New York Magazine about Hunt Slonem. I am sad to admit that I'd never heard of this artist, but now I am on a fast track to catch up and have already ordered a couple of his books.

A 15,000 (yes with five digits) square foot space and it's still overstuffed? That sounds curiously like the JunkPlex. And just how eccentric? We won't pass any judgment, but Albert Mayles is making a documentary about him. Can't wait.

The question is, are there cats peeing behind those portraits?

Steve - Something tells me the place is cleaner, but I suspect he is equally fond of singing show tunes.

How did you get a picture of our place. omg... LadyCat and I put our things(stuff) together last year when we married; you wouldn't believe it! :) Wow, JT, thanks for introducing me to Fred Hersch! I couldn't find I celebrate my life or the song universal on youtube; however, I have fallen in love with his playing being a somewhat free-lance past piano teacher. His Cole Porter's So In Love is fantastic! I must get a cd with that on it. Thanks again, my friend! Have a great week!

Bachelor - Glad you enjoyed Fred Hersch. His take on Whitman is really great.

I'd better clean my apartment before they do a documentary.

This magpie has to work at keeping her eccentricity at bay. I try and minimize every few years, but the stuff just keeps coming back! Just as long as I don't become Miss Havisham.

Slonem is an interesting character. We can't seem to stop collecting "treasures".
Thanks for stopping by.

I saw a clip about him before. My question was how do you find all that space in one apartment?

Bryce - I don't think there is enough room at your place for the cameras, so you're safe.

Willow - You say that as if there is a problem of being like Mrs. Havisham.

Lady Cat - The only downside of treasures is finding enough space.

Clever - Well he's gone from 40,000 square feet to 15,000, so he's got a bit of space.
