I love mosaics. There are some good murals around town and some bad murals, but never any bad mosaics. Maybe it's because it takes planning, or you have to be a real craftsperson, or maybe mosaic is better suited for outdoor art. And of course Gaudi's park G____.
Jill - I aim to please. Glad to know someone watches these.
Dan - Welcome back. While you were away, I transformed from thieving riff raff to return to my birthright as a Catalan gentleman.
Bryce - I am just back from the La Puccini's La Rondine. The tragic third act was ablaze with stained glass and mosaic columns. I felt that I was back in Parc Guell. Barcelona is the mecca of mosaics. I am thinking about a local slide show of nothing but mosaics.
are you sure you sure a couple pictures from barcelona didn't jump into this slide show! a local show of nothing but murals sounds great...look forward to it
Love the slide show! I believe the mosaic images are a part of my friend Deborah Cooper's work. Did you take those pics on York Street between 22nd and 21st?
How fun and crazy to see her work here! Very cool when the worlds come together.
Enjoy your Fassbinder! Poor Franz Biberkopf! and happy Thanksgiving!
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
JunkThief is your typical Gallic Jew boy born on the Great Plains, went to Gotham and Ouagadougou and Kathmandu before settling in San Francisco's Mission District. Now he searches the dark alleys of that city to find good conversation, Weimar culture and (but of course) the perfect door knob.

I do enjoy your photos!
I go away for two months and when I come back you're Ladron de Basura. Well excuse me. :)

I just spent all morning SCREAMING at the person on the 1-800-Butterball hotline. We finally worked things out.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Kimy - No, the mosaics are all in SF. I'm obviously not the only person here who's been to Catalonia.
Reya - It was actually on 22nd just east of Folsom. I'm at 24th & York, so I'll have to step out and snap shots of Deborah's work.
Bryce - You are long overdue to star in the remake of "I Wake Up Screaming". That was a good warm up.
Gary - And the same to you, sir.
