Reposted, Sort of...

A photo I took of a piece of street art of Wikilinks head honcho Julian Assange was posted (after a kind request for permission) on Scatter/Gather. There is a fitting irony in a picture of a picture of Julian Assange by someone named Junk Thief being the lead image of how public and viral our lives are these days. Maybe it will inspire me to post more content here in 2011!

Eleven Years Ago

This photo was taken eleven years ago at a garden side meeting in Garden Grove, California, captured by my CEO at the time who thought it was a great shot -- albeit with a tad too much sun from being in the Southland.

Later that year I would use it as a profile for one of my earliest -- and typically fruitless or more often fruity -- forays into internet dating profiles. Intriguingly, the most intent offers I received were from three women in Utah who said they thought I was their soul mate if only because I so reminded them of Donny Osmond. "Puppy Love". Urgh.

Internet dating. Dating. Don't get me started.

The Updo Explained

Okay, it's already outdated (thankfully), but I just discovered this apparently local interweb, self-proclaimed "master of the awkward interview". The hair salon encounter was pretty amusing. If you just can't get enough of her, she is over at the Minx Mandate.

Face the Dog

Yes, there really is a...Dogbook, a parallel Facebook site. Oh, dear. Thanks to the introduction from Joy of I've Got a Crush on...ME! Now her Basil and Guru are at least cyber friends across the continent. Bunter and Whimsey's "In Loving Memory" profiles are still up over at Catster. Perhaps I should look for Gardenster so my agapanthia can make friends with others in New Zealand or something.

An amazing thing, these interwebs. I bet I can already predict Tugboat Dave's reaction to yet another wacky San Francisco-fused trend.

If you've not friended me already, my Facebook profile is here.

Happy Spam-a-versary!

I hate spam as much as anyone, but I must admit the email address on this one caught my eye. It's really fitting for the 30th anniversary of the first spam message I always knew Thelma was a Gsister.
