Just When I Thought It Was Safe
August had been promised to me as a travel free month. Temps in the high 50s low 60s, a nice fog layer, the noisy foundation project next door finally complete, and I thought I'd have a pleasant, quiet month of catching up on projects and while listening to Satie and Poulenc while sipping cups of freshly brewed jasmine tea. SKREEECCCCCCHHHHHH!!!! Guess again. How much noise does it take to pour concrete across the street? I'll spare you the agony by not inserting a sound clip file. I especially love the intent gaze of Nana y Papi (you may want to embiggen to view) as they monitor their project from the top of the stairs.
UPDATE: Dang, dem hombres was fast. Barely an hour later and they're gone and there's a glistening sheen of fresh new drive across the street. There goes my plan of inviting the construction workers over for a beer at break time. Aw well, maybe I'll run over and write "JunkThief was here" in the fresh concrete.

Satie and Jasmine Tea, count me in! On a totally different note; have you tried a pinc of Chopin together with some Japanese Osmanthus tea?
a pinch.. not a pinc! (of course not silly) :)
Oh, that sounds like a nice combo too. Poulenc and Sencha are also nice together. Merci de votre suggestion, Monsieur Digibudi.
After you write "Junk Thief was here", will you also scratch "Two Write Hands wasn't"?
Miss Handy -- Will do. Maybe I should just go over there with the entire blog roll and write in everyone's url.
Ooooh, will you write "deadbeats and junk thieves unite" if there is space??? ;)
Oh, yes. A url would be a wonderful addition. God love guerrilla marketing.
