Curiously, I woke up this morning with Neko Case in my head, doing "Honky Tonk Hiccups", which kinda has the same vocal trick in it.
Rich - If you've ever seen the documentary "Women of Rockabilly", Janis Martin credits Ruth and this song for having a great influence on her style. So the Neko Case connection makes sense.
