Thanks to "Gavin Elster" over at Sequoia Sempervirens for alerting me to this hilarious video. For the one year anniversary of JunkThief coming up in a few weeks, I'm inviting all my blogroll buddies to help recreate this little ensemble numbers with their webcams. Can anyone help us track down Soleil Moon Frye to join us? Come on, you know the words -- "We are a family, and we are growing free..."

Did Bill Condon direct this segment? It looks like his style.
It could be. In my version, I could picture you coming down the stairs a la Marla Gibbs. Or would you prefer something more "Vertigo" in style, strolling through Mission Dolores cemetery perhaps? I plan to film my own segment from atop Sutro Tower.
My segment will be on the pirate ship dance floor of the Tonga room in my Charlotte Rae getup. Swirling the floor with my dance partner, a glazed ham.
Oh, that sounds great. I need someone who can replicate Nell Carter's enunciation of "fam-ILL-eeeeh". Any takers on that one?

I remember with horror seeing THE FACTS OF LIFE in Italian while in Italy -- But then their own television programs were just as weird and gross.
I miss Nell Carter and was upset when she died.
For all the jokes she suffered through, I loved her and miss her too.
