I've heard stories about the Hunky Jesus contest, but I thought it was just an urban myth or something. I think I'm going to stop cutting my hair and enter next year.
Also, you and I should collaborate on a video some day. We'd be unstoppable!
Dave - Yes, please start preparing now. I think you'd win. You've got the look down much more than that hairless little twink I photographed. Our video collaboration sounds like a great idea. Here's a thought - we each take the bus and meet midway in Winnemucca or something.
Sounds awesome. Maybe in May for the Run-A-Mucca Motorcycle Race?
Dave - That sounds like a great idea. I bet there'd be plenty of true Hunky Jesuses. Perhaps we can wear our loin clothes and practice.
Impressive JTTV there. Thanks for letting us take a stroll in your shoes! Hope you had a nice Easter.
CFB - Thanks. I am not a big Easter fan (we Jews and the Virgin Mary have never enjoyed it much), and I don't frequent many such events. But with the weather perfect and after seeing so much drab, dark winter colors it was a very pleasant day in the park -- warm, colorful and good natured silliness.
Not to be sacrilegious or anything, but 'hunky jesus' is kind of redundant.
Jason - I think it's better to be sacrilegious than to be redundant.
The most incredible stroll/walk the world has ever seen. Junk Thief never looked more bored.
Or maybe he's just pensive?
WAT - Not bored, just awe-struck by the wonder of it all. My expression was nothing compared to the Salvadoran ice cream vendor checking out the freaks in the park. I would have loved to have interviewed him to get his perspective on it all. Though I suspect if the folks bought ice cream, he really didn't give a rip what they do with their costumes.
This looks like a fun time. As I watched this episode of JTTV I realized that it is high time for me to get out and get involved with something joyful and silly like this. There was certainly much to look at (although I was hoping for a few more hunky Jesus types) but I think my favorite was Tigger.
Gary - It's usually not my cup of tea, but it was too gorgeous of a day. Tigger was pretty cute and would probably have been fine in a loincloth too. Isn't "Wigstock" coming up soon? Go!
