Oh, I love the Larry Welk so much. Especially since one may not simply watch episodes of his show anymore without endless memorializing by what remains of his dancers/singers from the golden age.
It often gets into the truly poignant, where good hearted gal -who has been trained to never stop smiling- nontheless is crying because her children and grandchildren never come see her at the Lawrence Welk retirement home.
It's fucked up, and truly hilarious. "Gramma's cree-py!"
The dancer and former mousekateer Bobby was my neighbor when I was a kid. He was the nicest guy on the block. I used to watch that damn show. My parents didn't... I did. They didn't like the show. How could me telling them I'm gay be a surprise?
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
JunkThief is your typical Gallic Jew boy born on the Great Plains, went to Gotham and Ouagadougou and Kathmandu before settling in San Francisco's Mission District. Now he searches the dark alleys of that city to find good conversation, Weimar culture and (but of course) the perfect door knob.

Rich - What's the name of the constantly smiling pianist on that show? She's my favorite, as well as Token, the African American tap dancer.
Gavin - You knew Bobby? I'm not worthy. Tasteless as it sounds, I must ask if you ever blew Bobby.
For Godsakes Junkie He's a Mouseketeer! They don't do things like that.
Gavin - Haven't you every heard of passive participants?
