Barney Goes Rogue

After a couple of weeks of crying, mourning and generally feeling depressed about the sad end for a sweet but aggressive dog, I can actually laugh at this. Another reason I prefer sight hounds over terriers.

I had have my beloved (dog-like) cat euthanized a few years ago, which was the worst experience I've ever had.

BTW, do you know this recording

Round about Weill

Gianluigi Trovesi + Gianni Coscia

Gives new meaning to the term haunting music.

Susan - I had to have both of my elderly dog-like cats euthanized over the past two years. I never knew that I would be facing it with a cat-like dog so soon afterwards.

Just checking out the "Round About Weill" music. Thanks for the tip. Do you know Theo Bleckmann's Berlin that is made up of mostly Weill tunes? One of my favorite street musicians used to play Weill's "Youkali" on her bandoneon as people exited the 24th/Mission BART. I wonder how many others recognized that tune.

I will look into this Theo Bleckmann. Did you see Shockheaded Peter at the ACT when it was here 8 years ago as musically enhanced by the Tiger Lilies? See youtube for various videos. Be prepared for tortured falsetto, there is accordian though.

Was that the woman with the autoharp? I used to live in S.F.

Susan - I seemed to have missed Peter at ACT. Terry Gross did a great interview Theo this summer that you can find on the NPR site.
