I was in Barcelona for less than a day in 1989 during my backpacking frenzy tour of Europe - 17 countries in 2 months. Believe it or not I was not impressed with the place. I have been kicking myself ever since! All the wonderful things I missed because my visit was so short lived and I was fighting with my traveling companion at the time.
So, I am expecting you to do it up right for the both of us.
i just turned 51 also. life is getting hard at this age. I would love to move to folsom st and drink beer at the hole in the wall with all the other old haggared trolls. ohwell.....
Gary - I was there in 1972 as a young sprite for about the same amount of time when it was still under the thumb of Franco. Some folks it has exploded into too much of a hot spot, suddenly the most popular destination in Europe. I hope not to be disappointed. Something tells me I won't.
Bill - Uh, hi. Not sure how this relates to Folsom Street...but welcome. I won't take offense at being called a haggared (or is it haggard) old troll, but I've not been into the Hole in the Wall since the Dot Com boom days. Is it still open?
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
JunkThief is your typical Gallic Jew boy born on the Great Plains, went to Gotham and Ouagadougou and Kathmandu before settling in San Francisco's Mission District. Now he searches the dark alleys of that city to find good conversation, Weimar culture and (but of course) the perfect door knob.

I'm trying to figure out a way to sneak into your luggage.
I love your Jewish face post so very very very much. You are not a "fake" half-Jew except according to the most conservative thinkers.
Have a wonderful time! Can't wait for the reports!
The Jews must return to Barcelona!
Todd - Go ahead and try. You'll have company.
Reya - I would trust your Jew-confirmation skills. Wait, confirmation is a Catholic ceremony isn't it?
WAT - We plan to retake Venice as well.
